Cottage

The distinguishing characteristics of Swiss Chalet style country cottage are the open porches, large glass windows and natural wood look. The style is a direct copy of the mountain chalets in Switzerland where they are built mostly in the mountain areas as ski lodges.

The country cottage was built by a private contractor with thick walls and a solid foundation. The cottage is warm and cozy in the winter and cool and comfortable in the summer. It is entirely made of wood, outside and inside in order to follow the “Swiss chalet” style. The ceilings contain rough beams.

The dining and living rooms of the country cottage are an open concept with big wood beams on the ceilings, wood floors and a stylish maple wood stairway in the center. There is a sun room at the back of the house with a superb view of the mountain. The balcony of the master bedroom on the second floor opens to a nice view of the Montérégie. The finished basement has wood floors. The fresh water you drink from the tap comes from a private well.
